101 easy tips for a great summer!

Bronzer is the key to summer's smoldering look. But to ensure a natural look, don’t over do it. Use a matte bronzer without too much orange, and no shimmer. Read on for tips on how to achieve sun-kissed complexion with just makeup, 100% fake, 100% healthy ;)

Glow with Bronzers

Nothing says summer more than bronzed skin. Using the right tone of barely there bronzer can give an instant glow of health. You can obtain a faux tan that is safe and can make your skin glow all year long with bronzers, but they require a few tricks to achieve a flawless look.

Bronzer comes in loose and pressed powder form, cream or gel roll up sticks, liquid sheer tints that you brush on and blend with a sponge, and pencils. Some are more luminous than others are and some have sparkle or glitter rather than glow.

Want to look like the stars? Creating a truly natural-looking tone requires a bit of effort. The color you want to achieve is the color you would have after a day in the sun, with good sun block on.

1. Begin by using a foundation to match the darker end of your skin tones.
   
   
2. Highlight around the eyes with a lighter toned foundation. If the eye area is too tan, you will look tired or older.
   
   
3. Set it with a translucent powder. Be sure the powder has a tan or yellow tint; no pinks.
   
   
4. Apply bronzer all over the face (even to mouth, it helps lipcolor adhere) using a big, fluffy powder brush, especially where the sun would normally hit you: on the apples of the cheeks, under cheekbones, across the forehead, on the bridge of the nose, and a little on the chin.
   
   
5. Then use a two-sided neutral lip pencil to line and fill in lips and to define upper and lower lashlines.
   
   
6. To accent your new coloring, use a bronze toned lipstick or gloss.
   
   
7. Next add dimension to eyes by blending a bronze cream eyeshadow into creases and layering brown mascara onto upper and lower lashes.
   
   
8. Finish by brushing gold-glitter mascara onto just the ends of lashes and through brows for a sexy but sublte sparkle.

More tips on how to wear your bronzer:

• Wear a monochromatic look or mix bronze, copper, and gold with rose or tawny blush. Use translucent powder on the T-zone to keep from a greasy rather than dewy look.
  
  
• Be a minimalist for daytime wear. For a sheer glow and sun protection, mix one of the loose sparkle colored powders with a tinted moisturizer like Olay Complete Multi-Radiance UV Lotion , or start with a gel bronzer for the face. Apply the bronzer where the sun would normally give you color. Add a tinted liquid blush like benetint by BeneFit to the apples of the cheeks for a healthy flush just after applying the gel or tinted moisturizer.
  
  
• In the evening, highlight the cheekbone with one of the shimmer powders or sticks. Add a bit of rose or tawny blush on the apples of the cheeks.
  Slather on some jiffy tan by benefit on decolte, arms and shoulders. Not a self-tanner, this tanly tinted body lotion is formulated to go on evenly and stay put – it gives instant gratification. Lightly blend onto bare skin to see the difference. Cleanses off easily with soap & water and has a beautiful red currant scent.
  
  

• Eyes: Copper powder or the same all in one bronzer you used on your cheeks. Use some of the shimmer highlight powders on the browbone. Try one of the new aqua eyeliners out for summer or a taupe, dark brown, black or navy liner smudged along the eyeline. Mascara in black, black-brown or navy. With pale nude color on the lid, try one of the new metalic mascara with a dark liner.

   

• Lips: Apply sheer lipstick or lipgloss in a berry, pink or bronze neutral color. Don't wear a matte lipstick, or you will look overdone. Mix one of the loose powders with clear lipgloss like Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss in Sweet Nothing for a beautiful gloss.
